The basic goal of this filmaking course is to encourage students to develop knowledge that will enable them to appreciate the art and craft of film making and to become more discerning viewers. The course includes a history of the significant technological advances and trends in filmmaking. Students learn the terminology, techniques, and artistic considerations of the medium and how to analyze a film in terms of content, craft, historical significance and meaning. Finally, students participate in making their own films.
